Deja Vu Love
October 1, 2014
On September 13, 2014 these two love birds exchanged vows at the Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC. The beautiful bride is Regina Gavin Williams and the groom is Ron. Regina and I are best friends and I was very excited to be able to do their engagement shoot last October.
So I know you're wondering why I entitled the post "Deja Vu Love". Regina met Ron when she attended UGA at a fraternity party. They hit it off a little but nothing serious. Actually, Regina was Ron's very first Facebook friend (just so you know how long ago that was). So years later after Regina graduated from UGA, received her Master's Degree, she moved to Greensboro, NC for a job at UNC-G. One day Regina went to a neophyte presentation of one of her students that had pledged Alpha Phi Alpha. Ron is a member of the fraternity and pledged at UNC-G and saw Regina there and made sure that he spoke to her before she left. The rest was history.

When it was time for Ron to propose to Regina he called me to help set it up. After telling a few fibs, we finally were able to get Regina back at the "Rock". Ron got down on one knee to ask her to be Mrs. Williams, at the place where they reconnected. I know, you're wondering what this has to do with the photos. Well it's not often that you are actually the photographer that knows the full backstory behind the lovebirds that you shoot, so I figured I would share.
The couple had a southern-style wedding and was going for a rustic feel, so their first outfits really showed some of the southern charm. We took a trip to Bog Garden in Greensboro for the first scene. At first Regina was a little nervous, but Ron made her feel at ease with his jokes and charm. We had a lot of fun and the pictures really showed their genuine chemistry.

The couple decided to change outfits and be a little more ritzy. We decided to take pictures downtown at the beautiful City Center Park where the water fountain and lights really made the couple glow. We ended the shoot at the heart of Downtown Greensboro on Elm St at the International Civil Rights Museum.
Oh how could I forget? Regina and Ron were featured on Essence.com! Check out their feature.
